Agency Publishes Proposed Hexavalent Chromium Rule

More than 9 years after promising to update the permissible exposure limit(PEL)for hexavalent chromium(HC),the Third Circuit Court of Appeals ordered OSHA to complete a proposed standard by October 4,and a final standard by Jan.18,2006.OSHA met the first deadline,without a day to spare,as it published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the October 4 Federal Register.
