Changes in TUPE

31 January 2014 saw the government implement changes to the regime that governs employee rights on the outsourcing of services or transfer of a business. The changes to the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 ("the TUPE regulations") come after several years of consultation. In this article Stuart Neilson, a partner and expert in employment law at the infrastructure law firm, Pinsent Masons LLP, looks at the impact these changes will have upon those operating under contracts for the provision of services in relation to the highways and traffic management industry.
