CIS: brief analysis of raw material markets

In April-May, prices will be nearing their peak in the CIS export market for raw materials amid stable demand from Turkey. April increase in scrap quotes will support May prices for pig iron, but their further decline will break the trend leading to a gradual decrease in June-July. Tighter competition in the global market and political and economic instability in the region are affecting posi?tions of CIS exporters. Besides, weaker national currencies against the US dollar are making exports more attractive.
