AGM-142 Raptor/HAVE NAP/Popeye

The AGM-142 Raptor (HAVE NAP), based on the Israeli Popeye missile, is a medium-range conventional standoff air-launched ground-attack missile adapted for USAF use. As part of its plan to develop the B-52G bomber for the con-ventional role, the USAF procured an initial batch of 122 AGM-142A HAVE NAPs to arm seven B-52G bombers. First procurement of the missile was provided for in the FY89 budget. The Strategic Air Command originally established a requirement for as many as 1,000 AGM-142s, but this never transpired. A total of 261 were funded through FY98 of which 215 were ordered from Rafael in Israel and 46 from PGSUS.
