Export prices likely to decrease in August

CIS pig iron exports dropped by 13% to 642,000 t in June mostly dueto lower shipments from Ukraine (down 30% to 238,000 t). Exportsof Russian pig iron went down by 2% month-on-month to 404,000 t.Market sources reported weaker demand in Western Europe duringthe booking period, which affected pig iron shipments to the destination.Meanwhile, exports to the USA and Eastern Europe increased.As of July 22, Russian companies exported 298,000 t, including some157,000 t to the USA, 103,000 t to Italy and 9,200 t to Turkey, MetalExpert estimates.
