Spanish canned mandarin pricing has held steady since Anuga. Packers think it will remain firm this season, despite large production and reduced demand. The harvest has started, and packing is likely to start around November 18 and run until the end of December or the first week of January. The crop is described as "very good" with "good volumes and extraordinary quality". One packer told FOODNEWS that the raw material price is still being negotiated, but will probably be around EURO.25-0.27 (USD0.33-0.36) per kilo, compared with over EUR0.30/kg last year.
