Russian Air-to Surface Missiles

Russia offers a wide range of tactical air-to-surface missiles (TASM) on the export market. The Zvezda Kh-25 (AS-10 Karen) is the most common of the new weapons, somewhat resembling the American Bull-pup or French AS.30 in size and mission. A larger missile is the Vympel Kh-29 (AS-14 Kedge), more similar in size and role to the American Maverick family. The most sophisticated and long-ranged of the new weapons is the Kh-59 Ovod (AS-13 Kingbolt), a large, electro-optically guided weapon similar to the US Navy's SLAM, and available in a long-range turbo-jet powered version as well, the Kh-59M Ovod-M (AS-18 Kazoo).
