US senators introduce carbon tax bill

Two longtime proponents of US action to address climate change have introduced legislation to create a carbon tax that would cover greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from large industrial sources. Democratic senators Bernie Sanders and Barbara Boxer propose to create a $20/short ton carbon tax, which will affect about 3,000 sources responsible for 85pc of US emissions, including transport fuels.
