摘要

The iron oxide carbon composite catalyst (Fe-C) was prepared and used for catalytic debromination process during pyrolysis of heating impact polystyrene (HIPS-Br) with various brominated flame retardants at 430deg C into fuel oil.The effedts of antimony oxide (SB_2O_3 synergist) in HIPS-Br containing decarbomo diphenyl oxide (DDO) and decarbormo diphenyl ehtane (DDE) as flame tetardant was investigated the thermal degradiation of HIPS-Br produced various brominated hydrocarbons and also hydrobromic acid (HBr) in addition to various hydrocarbons The synergist (Sb_2O_3) reacted with the dhydrogen bromide evolved durintg the pyrolysis peocess and formed the SbBrd_3 in te liquid products The presence of bromine content (organic and inorganic) in liquid products is not desirable to use as a fuel oil The use of iron oxide crarbon omposite catalyst (Fe-C) during pyrolysis debrominated (ca.99%) the bromine compounds from liquid products The presence of Sb_2O_3 (5wt %) decreased both the hydrogen bromide and brominated hydrocarbons by forming SbBr_3 and produced high quantity of lower hydrocarbos (C_7-C_11) Thermogravimetrci analysis (TGA) revealed that eh presene fo Sb_2O_3 in Hips-br decreased the degradation temperature Powder X-ray diffraction results showd the presence of Fe_3O_4 phase in frresh Fe-C Scanning electron microscpy (SEM) and energy disper X-ray diffraction results hsowed the presence of Fe_3O_4 phase in fresh Fe_C Scanning electron micrscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) shows the presence of Sb asnd Br in use Fe-C catalyst in the degradation process.
