CANBERRA'S LOVE AFFAIR WITH THE URBAN FOREST

There are a lot of trees in canberra,something many visitors to the city notice. Surprisingly, an interstate acquaintance who visited a recent exhibition called Urban Forest, which critiqued Canberra's approach to trees, commented that she really only started to notice the trees in Canberra after she saw the exhibition. Perhaps Canberrans take their trees for granted too. But Canberra's urban forest and the natural appearance of the hills, ridges and mountains that are the setting for the city demonstrate the continuity of a vision of a city in the landscape.
