It is no secret that the offshore industry has swung into a major downturn. What's difficult is trying to predict when it will swing back. When the sector began to fall in late 2013, offshore drilling operators predicted that this year would be a turning point where contract renegotiations and rig stacking would begin to wane. Now that 2015 is well past the midpoint, some operators have pushed the timeline back at least two years.
