JPP Chromatography, a small UK technology company, announces the development of an air stable, single (one bottle) 'hydrindantin-free' ninhydrin reagent for amino acid analysis. All commercially available ninhydrin reagents sold for high performance ion chromatography amino acid determinations are currently based on the original 60 year old Moore and Stein method, which requires the presence of the highly sensitive hydrindantin as an 'accelerator'.
