Mills' prices to decline in coming months

For September deliveries to the home market, prices for 57-108 mm welded pipes (GOST 10704(05)) declined by 6-9%. Domestic demand for small- and medium-sized welded pipes continued to fall in September amid a seasonal drop in private construction as there were no large infrastructure projects that could support consumption. Construction companies and processors had a limited access to loan funds because of high interest rates, while low paying capacity was seen in all sectors consuming small- and medium-sized welded pipes. Final demand will keep seasonally going down in the forecast period, affecting mills' sales. Oversupply will be one of the key factors favouring a decrease in prices for small- and medium-sized welded pipes.
