Prices to stay unchanged in June

In April, OMK decreased prices for 57-108 mm welded pipes (GOST10704(05)) by 5%, while TMK left its price lists unchanged.In May, mills failed to achieve as low prices for HRC as they wanted,so negotiations dragged on. As a result, a number of companies cutpurchases of May-rolled HRC, with sales from safe custody warehousesbeing minimal. As of the end of the month, inventories were relativelythin, so in June-August mills’ prices for welded pipes will depend largelyon production costs. According to Metal Expert’s forecast, domesticfeedstock prices quoted to pipe plants will stay unchanged in June todecrease by 5-8% in July and flatten again in August.
