Study of output-input ratios at various levels of cultural practices at optimum levels of fertilizer nutrients for various crops.

The output (total yield) and input ratios (quantity of applied fertilizers) of sugarcane, sorghum, tobacco, wheat, nagli, mustard, soyabean and tomato cultivated under different types of farming practices in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, India was determined. Optimum levels of N, P2O5 and K2O fertilizers were applied. In Andhra Pradesh, the range of output-input ratios for sugarcane crop was 5.46-9.24 q/kg and the optimum level of harvesting at 12.96 months after planting with an optimum level of 119.7 kg K2O/ha applied. The range of output-input ratios of sugarcane in Bihar was 4.93-5.86 q/kg applied with an optimum level of 135.9 kg K2O/ha and an optimum level of harvesting at 11.04 months after planting. In Maharashtra, the output-input ratio was in the range of 4.38-8.00 q/kg applied with 175.89 kg K2O/ha and harvested 13.49 months after planting. In Karnataka, the range of output-input ratio for sugarcane was 9.56-10.97 q/kg amended with an optimum level of 151.9 kg K2O/ha and harvested 16 months after planting. Lastly, the range of output-input ratio in Uttar Pradesh for sugarcane was 3.87-3.90 q/kg harvested 14 months after planting and applied with an optimum level of 177.5 kg K2O/ha.
