MAN issues fuel pipe warning

MAN Diesel & Turbo has released Customer Information circular No.330 about an increased tightening torque requirement for their four-stroke L48/60CR and V48/60CR engines. Due to occasional leakages from fuel pipes, owners, operators, and personnel involved in maintaining vessels that have MAN Diesel & Turbo four-stroke L48/60CR or V48/60CR engines should be aware that the recommended torque has been increased. The circular advises that the tightening torque of the high-pressure fuel pipes from the CR high pressure pump to the accumulator, as well as the high-pressure fuel injection pipes from the accumulator to the fuel injection valve, has been increased from 280 to 320Nm.
