Transfer of phosphate dissolving ability of B. Megatherium var. phosphaticum to Azotobacter via genetic transformation.

摘要

The phosphate dissolving ability of Bacillus megaterium var. phosphaticum was transferred to Azotobacter vinelandii via genetic transformation. Azotobacter was used as the recipient strain and B. megaterium was used as a donor. Transformation was detected on phosphate dissolving media. Transformation frequency was 3.15 X10-3. Seven transformants were selected and tested for their phosphate dissolving and N-fixing abilities on liquid media (in vitro) and on wheat plants grown in sterilized soil (invivo). The results indicated that all transformants exhibited phosphate dissolving ability whereas the transformant No. 5 was the most efficient. Moreover, transformation did not affect N-fixing ability of Azotobacter.
