Duferco Travi e Profilati progresses on bea m mill construction

Italy's Duferco Travi e Profilati plans to commission a beam mill at San Zeno Naviglio plant by the end of 2022, Metal Expert learnt from the steelmaker's publication.The project track continues according to the schedule, with a reheating furnace is under installation. The steelmaker completes a feasibility study to equip the future unit with a 2 MW photovoltaic unit, aiming to reduce electricity consumption. Earlier the company signed a contract with a wind farm to equip the mill with modern solutions in terms of energy saving, digitization, artificial intelligence tools and automation solutions. As a result, the new mill will fully consume energy from renewable sources.
