摘要

Thirty-four different accessions from diploid, tetraploid and hexaploid wheat species were analysed by SDS-PAGE to study polymorphism among the triticin proteins. Also triticin gene hypervariable region fragment of 24 accessions of different diploid and hexaploid species was amplified by PCR. No polymorphism was found in triticin protein sub-units of diploid species but it was there in tetraploid wheat on SDS PAGE. Enough polymorphism of diploid wheat was seen in PCR amplification. Tetraploid and diploid wheat was found to be polymorphic and could be used in designing wheat breeding programme for producing genetically improved wheat rich in lysine.
