摘要

The morpho-physiological variations in 8 maize hybrids (SC 21, SC 22, SC 23, SC 24, TWC 321, TWC 322, TWC 323 and TWC 324) under different levels of soil moisture stress (100, 75 and 70% evapotranspiration, ET) were investigated in Egypt at 30, 45 and 60 days after planting. The physiological indices evaluated include: leaf area index (LAI), photosynthetic efficiency (Photo), canopy temperature depression (CTD), stomatal conductance (SC) and chlorophyll content (chl). SC 22 and SC 24 were the most sensitive to water stress. The highest LAI, Photo, SC and chl values, as well as the highest grain yield, were obtained from TWC 323 under all water regimes. Yield per plant increased with increasing water supply. The lowest grain yield (115.8 g/plant) was obtained from SC 24 at 70% ET..
