The 95 front line demonstrations were conducted in humid south-eastern plain zone-V of Rajasthan to evaluate improved production technology of maize for higher productivity in the zone during the years 2008 to 2010 at the farmers' field. Improved production technology of maize produced 28.67% higher mean grain yield over farmers' practice. The mean technology yield gap (1311 kg/ha) and index (15.5%) were observed during the study period. Improved production technology recorded higher net return (Rs. 11778/ha), additional return (Rs. 3903/ha) and IBCR (2.40) in comparison to farmers' practices. Gain of knowledge 25.56% mean higher was measured after implementation of improved production technology by the respondent farmers. Majority of the respondent farmers' expressed their medium (45.0%) to high (34.0%) level of satisfaction for the improved production technology of maize under real farm situations. The adoption of improved production technology will help to boost up the productivity of maize and improve the economic conditions of farmers of the zone.
