Devas gets preferential allocation of ISRO's spectrum

A little-known company in Bangalore, Devas Multimedia Pvt Ltd, has got preferential allocation of air waves controlled by the Indian Space Research Organisation by virtue of an agreement the two signed five years ago. Devas has been allocated bulk capacity of 10 transponders on not one, but at least two forthcoming satellites, the space agency has confirmed in a communication to the media. An agreement to this effect was signed in January 2005 between Devas and ISRO's commercial arm, Antrix Corporation, it said.
