Alenia North America, a subsidiary of Alenia Aeronautica and a part of the Finmeccanica Group, delivered the fifth Afghanistan National Army Air Corps (ANAAC) C-27/G.222 aircraft to the United States Air Force. The remanufactured and modernized airlifter was delivered at the end of April and was immediately deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan to join the other four aircraft. The aircraft is the fifth of 18 C-27/G.222 aircraft ordered by the United States Air Force to be delivered at Alenia's Capodichino facility near Naples, Italy.
