Intracystic papillary carcinomas of the breast are more similar to in situ carcinomas than to invasive carcinoma.

We read with interest the article by Wynveen et al regarding intracystic papillary carcinoma (IPC). In this article Wynveen et al describe a clinical pathologic study of 13 cases of pure IPC, 8 cases of IPC with or indeterminate for microinvasion (IPC ? microinvasion), and 19 cases of IPC associated with invasion.
