Cast iron is generally deemed to be a material relatively difficult to machine although its various alloys mean different machinability. Cast iron components are frequently made in large series or in small batches of big-size components requiringsubstantial metal cutting operations. Recent developments in cutting tools have shown that productivity and machining safety can be improved distinctly.
