Until now, components made of silicon-nitride ceramics were exclusively machined by grinding due to their high thermal and mechanical stability. However, this is a very time-absorbing and cost-intensive method. Substantial improvements areachieved with a CNC lathe for laser-aided turning recently development for series production.
