The explosive growth of the Chinese R134a industry in 2006 and 2007 led to R134a production capacity surpassing its domestic market demand. It was the same in the global market. Generally speaking, a lot of domestic companies that produce R134a are not operating at full capacity. Most R134a manufacturers suffered losses in 2007. In 2008, the global financial crisis caused demand to shrink, which indicated another bad year.
