When VRFs entered China in the 1990s, they were classified as central air conditioners together with unitary air conditioners and chillers. Since then, the VRF market has grown, and accounted for 52% of the total central air conditioning market in 2017, 4% higher than the previous year. Now, China has become the largest VRF market and the largest VRF production base in the world.
