One-pot Synthesis of 1-((methylthio)methyl)-2-phenyl-1H- benzo[d]imidazole from O-phenylenediamine and Aldehyde by Elemental Sulfur

摘要

A straightforward one-step method for the 1-((methylthio) methyl)-2-phenyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazole from o-phenylenedi- amine and aldehyde has been developed employing DMSO as a solvent and as a reagent. In addition, the desired product can be collected with excellent yields under the suitable conditions.
