The Covid-19 pandemic has slowed global economic growthand pressured demand for tungsten products in 2020. Tradein tungsten intermediate products, such as tungstates,oxides and ferro-tungsten has been hit harder than tradein more processed forms of tungsten, such as carbides andtungsten metal products.China’s combined exports of tungsten products in January-August dropped by 34pc to 9,540t W from 14,480t W a yearearlier. Total export revenues were $319.4mn, with an aver-age value of $33,470/t W. Assuming a similar drop for theyear as a whole would take Chinese tungsten exports from20,555t W in 2019 to 13,540t W in 2020.
