China’s tungsten concentrate output rose slightly in JanuaryAugust, as key producers maintained their production to meet annual targets. The country produced 87,168t of tungsten concentrate containing 65pc tungsten trioxide in the period, up by 0.6pc from 86,644t a year earlier, data from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association show. China produced 10,369t of tungsten concentrate in August, down from 11,940t a year earlier. Output in Jiangxi fell by 1.51pc to 30,995t from a year earlier. Output from Hunan rose to 27,821t from 27,781t over the same period, while output in Henan increased by 17.7pc on the year to 12,982t. Combined output from Jiangxi and Hunan accounted for 71pc of China’s total tungsten production in January-August.
