BHP places copper output guidance under review

Australia-UK resources firm BHP has placed its July 2019June 2020 copper guidance under review as a result of smelter downtime at the Olympic Dam in South Australia and the impact of Covid-19 containment measures at the Antamina mine in Peru. The group's July-March copper output of 1,310t was 5pc higher than a year earlier, but full-year guidance of 1,7051,820t is being reviewed, it said in its latest quarterly production update. January-March output of 425t was 7pc lower than October-December.
