Jinxinyuan postpones resuming silicon production

Chinese producer Jinxinyuan Silicon plans to postpone restarting its silicon metal production because of weak demand from consumers. The Hunan-based company, with an 800-900 t/month output capacity, halted production on 19 January ahead of the lunar new year holiday. It has not restarted production because of persistent price falls and weaker demand from trading companies, aluminium alloy producers and polysilicon producers.
