UK-Australian resources firm Rio Tinto has cut its 2020 production guidance for mined and refined copper because of a potential reduction in second-half output at Escondida in Chile and earthquake repairs to its Kennecott mine in the US. Guidance for mined copper has been lowered to 475,000520,000t from 530,000-570,000t with refined copper lowered to 165,000-205,000t. Its C1 cash cost guidance has been maintained at $1.20-1.35/lb of copper.
