Japan's Feni output up, FeMn falls in February

Japan has raised ferro-nickel production in February and reduced production of ferro-manganese. But end-month stocks of both ferro-alloys have risen on the back of lower domestic steel output. Japanese production of ferro-nickel rose to 24,424t in February, up by 2pc from February 2019 but down by 11pc from January, according to data released today by the country's industry ministry (Meti). Shipments of ferro-nickel dropped by 16pc on the year to 21,947t in February, while end-month stocks increased by 40pc to 52,092t.
