China’s Jan-Feb ferro-silicon exports fall

China’s ferro-silicon exports fell in January-February in response to weak international demand, supply cuts and logistics restrictions aimed at slowing the spread of Covid-19. The country exported 31,391t of the alloy (Si>55pc) dur- ing the first two months of this year, down by around 56.7pc from 72,567t in the year-earlier period. Shipments to Japan dropped by 62.5pc from a year ear- lier to 8,142t, accounting for 26pc of China's total exports. Deliveries to South Korea fell by around 31.5pc to 9,914t during the two-month period.
