China Huayou's cobalt output, sales rise

China's Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt raised its cobalt production and sales last year, in response to higher demand. The firm produced 28,305t (metal content) of cobalt products in 2019, up by 16pc from a year earlier, with sales rising by 13pc from 2018 to 24,651t. Huayou had a capacity of 39,000 t/yr for cobalt products by the end of 2019 — 30,000 t/yr at its Quzhou production base and 9,000 t/yr at its Tongxiang facility, both located in east China's Zhejiang province.
