Metal futures: Markets mixed, muted

Base metal prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) were mostly mixed and muted in the official morning session as the complex consolidated among subdued wider markets. The three-month LME copper contract dipped by 0.2pc to $6,921.50/t, while Comex’s next most active month copper contract rose by 0.4pc to $3.15/lb. Three-month LME aluminum edged down by 0.1pc to $1,922.50/t, while the three-month LME nickel contract increased by 0.5pc to $15,922/t.
