China's power battery output rises in February

Volumes and production of newly installed power batteries in China increased in February, supported by a recovery in the country's new energy vehicle (NEV) industry. The newly installed volume of power batteries was 5.6GWh in February, up more than ninefold from a year earlier but down by 35.6pc from January, according to China's automotive manufacturers association (CAAM). February's power battery production was 9.5GWh. The power battery expansion is supported by a rapidly developing NEV industry, with production and sales rising for an eighth consecutive month in February to hit new monthly records.
