European aluminium premiums climbed higher over the past week as traders described one of the tightest markets they’d seen in decades, with huge difficulties presented to those looking to pick up nearby units. Argus assessed the weekly P1020 in-warehouse Rotterdam duty-paid premium at $165-175/t today, from $155-165/t previously, while duty-unpaid premiums jumped to $140-145 from $120-125/t.
