China’s steel PMI rises in February

The purchasing manager's index (PMI) in China's steel sector rose in February on stronger steel demand and output, rising steel stocks and prices and the resumption of infrastructure projects after the lunar new year holiday. China’s steel PMI rose by 4.3 points to 48.6 in February, the China steel logistics professionals committee (CSLPC) said. A level below 50 indicates contraction. The steel PMI’s sub-index for new domestic orders rose by 8.3 points to 43.3 from January, the first increase after eight months’ decline.
