Output cuts supporting China’s FeCr prices

Further production cuts caused by continued electricity rationing in China’s major production hub of Inner Mongolia and higher demand from the stainless steel sector are expected by market participants to push up prices for highcarbon ferro-chrome in March. Argus last assessed the range for 50pc grade alloy at 8,700-9,000 yuan/t ($1,347-1,393/t) ex-works on 23 February, up from Yn8,500-8,800/t ex-works on 18 February on a sustained shortage of spot availability.
