Influence of plant growth regulators on growth, morpho-physiological characters and yield of summer sesame (Sesamum indicum L. cv. Rama) under moisture stress

In field experiments in 1997-98 in West Bengal, India, sesame cv. Rama was irrigated at peak flowering (F) + capsule development (C), branching (B) + C or B + F + C, and treated with 100 or 200 ppm CCC [chlormequat] or 50 or 100 ppm BX-112 (prohexadione calcium). Yield and yield component values were greatest with irrigation at B + F + C and with 200 ppm CCC.
