Stereoselective Formal Synthesis of Platencin

摘要

A stereoselective formal synthesis of platencin was accomplished from bromophenol 8 in eleven synthetic steps with 6% overall yield.The intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction of masked o-benzoquinone,intramolecular aldol condensation,and stereoselective hydrogenation were the key steps in the construction of the tricyclic core of platencin.
