Polymer complexes of 5-vinyl salcylidene anthranilic acid(PVSA)with europium, chromium and iron chlorides were synthesized and investigated by elemental analysis,(Uv-vis)electronic,IR-vibration and magnetic moment measurements were studied.Spectrophotometric studies proved the use of these ligands for the microdetermination of Eu(III)ion in solutions. The thermal stabilities of PVSA homopolymer and polymer complexes of(VSA)with metal chlorides were studied thermogravimetrically. The rates of polymerization of(PVSA)in the absent and in peresence of metal chlorides were studied. The activation energise of the degradation of the homopolymer and polymer complexes were calculated using Arrhenius equation.
