Merged class rules come under scrutiny

DNV GL has announced the launch of an external hearing process of its new rule set, which will replace the existing legacy rules in place from the two societies priorto their merger. More than 800 DNV GL customers and stakeholders will receive the classification society's new rules before their publication and entry into force. The structure of the rules is said to complement the typical design process, with 38 Ship Type Class notations defined to give shipyards and designers starting out on a new project an easy entry point.
