Coatings standard edges closer

Jotun's attempt to create an industry wide standard for hull performance solutions is a step closer after the ISO's Marine Environment Protection Sub-committee (ISO-TC8-SC2) voted in favour of a draft standard. It is expected that final approval of new guidelines will come next year. The company claims the purpose of establishing the guidelines is to prescribe practical methods for measuring changes in ship-specific hull and propeller performance. It also expects that the standard will define performance indicators for hull and propeller maintenance.
