Records management and information culture: tackling the people problem

Gillian Oliver is a senior lecturer in the School of Information Management at the Victoria University of Wellington, specializing in information cultures of organizations and in reconceptualizing records management as record-keeping informatics. Her professional background has seen her work in the UK, Germany and New Zealand. Fiorella Foscarini is an assistant professor at the University of Toronto, specializing in the relationship between information management and organizational cultures and studying the form and function of contemporary records through diplomatics and genre theory. Prior to this she was Archivist at the European Central Bank for a decade. Oliver and Foscarini have used their wealth of experience in the countries in which they have lived and worked (the UK, the USA, Canada, NZ, Germany and Italy) to inform this interesting and thought-provoking work which I recommend to practitioners in the information and records management world.
