Czech law setting quotas for domestic foods clears lower house of parliament

A controversial Czech bill requiring large stores to favour domestic food products has cleared the lower house of parliament, the Chamber of Deputies. The bill, which still needs to pass the upper house, the Senate, would set a 55% mandatory quota for certain domestic food products on offer in stores over 400 square metres from 2022 increasing by 3% a year to hit the maximum 73% in 2028.
