The European Commission is consulting on its plans for end 2022 proposals to revise the EU's decade-old labelling law, the food information to consumers regulation (FIC – 1169/2011), with an online questionnaire covering a harmonised mandatory front-of-pack nutrition label, nutrient profiles for health claims, extending nutrition and ingredients requirements to alcoholic drinks, changes to date marking to prevent food waste, and the extension of origin labelling to additional products.
